Wayne Gapp (far left, blue shirt) and the ex-Barrie Poole Pinto. This car was purchased and repainted into the livery you see below. Later destroyed in an accident in St. Louis.
The image itself was taken at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI. It was published as part of compilation of images published on YouTube. The video contains a lot of other great images from the time period.
See the original video here.
This is an image from Dragway Classics which I believe is the business name for Larry Malski’s business(?) Could be wrong.
Anyway, Larry Malski took the image.
Wayne Gapp driving and Bill Jameson in the t-shirt on the left.
Nice clean looking car.
Sooner or later I’m going to get my act together and get all this stuff posted.
In the meantime enjoy some video of the ex-Barrie Poole Pinto vs. Sox Martin.
See it here on youtube.
Another somewhat rare shot of Jack Roush driving the ex-Barrie Poole Ford Pinto. Paint by Bill Nolan.
Nice picture! I love these type of ‘at speed’ pics.
Nice image of Gapp v. Carlton in 1975.
This is interesting photo. Dad made a trip down to Brazil in the 1970’s to do some promotion work for Ford.
This is a image from the Brazilian portion of the trip.
This is a fairly rare photo…for me that is.
This is a picture of Jack Roush driving the Barrie Poole Pinto that G&R picked up.
There’s more to the story but let’s just enjoy the cool photo!
