Another image by Denis Scott. See a similar image from the set here.

The picture below is a fairly typical scene. My Dad (right) refers to Bill (left) as what the teams call today the ‘Crew Chief’. This image was taken by Kenneth Wilkins @ Bristol in 1973.
FYI – Kenny owns the ‘Country Shindig’ Maverick, one of my favorite non-Gapp & Roush cars.

It looks like it was a cold rainy day when this photo was taken in early 1973.

As noted in the caption Dick Maskin, Dave Kanners, Wayne Gapp, Etta and Bob Glidden. Don’t know the last person the right.

Dondero was driving for Jenkins at this point but later in the year would move over to drive for Gapp & Roush. Thanks to Tom Kasch for this scan.

Below is a picture that is part of video on YouTube. The first post of an image from the video can be found here.

Tom Kasch has been scanning some photos and sending them along. This image was taken at nearly the same time as this classic image (just before I think). This photo was used in a Accel ad.

Cheap at any price.
This ad ran in April 1974 but I don’t know the publication.

Wayne Gapp (far left, blue shirt) and the ex-Barrie Poole Pinto. This car was purchased and repainted into the livery you see below. Later destroyed in an accident in St. Louis.
The image itself was taken at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI. It was published as part of compilation of images published on YouTube. The video contains a lot of other great images from the time period.
See the original video here.
