Dondero was driving for Jenkins at this point but later in the year would move over to drive for Gapp & Roush. Thanks to Tom Kasch for this scan.

Below is a picture that is part of video on YouTube. The first post of an image from the video can be found here.
Gapp and Roush 1973 Pinto – picture from Pomona
Tom Kasch has been scanning some photos and sending them along. This image was taken at nearly the same time as this classic image (just before I think). This photo was used in a Accel ad.
Gapp & Roush’s 1973 Ford Pinto For Sale
Cheap at any price.
This ad ran in April 1974 but I don’t know the publication.
Wayne Gapp and the ex-Barrie Pool Gapp and Roush Pinto
Wayne Gapp (far left, blue shirt) and the ex-Barrie Poole Pinto. This car was purchased and repainted into the livery you see below. Later destroyed in an accident in St. Louis.
The image itself was taken at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI. It was published as part of compilation of images published on YouTube. The video contains a lot of other great images from the time period.
See the original video here.
The 351 Cleveland Head
Nice drawing of the Ford 351 Cleveland head. Posted here to show the original design of the head with the canted valves and, in particular, the design of the exhaust port.
Wayne Gapp, Bill Jameson and the 1976 Gapp & Roush Pinto
This is an image from Dragway Classics which I believe is the business name for Larry Malski’s business(?) Could be wrong.
Anyway, Larry Malski took the image.

Hot Rod Magazine – Ford returns to its roots – Gapp and Roush ‘Taxi’
Hot Rod magazine create a post on their web site titled “Ford returns to drag racing roots”.
Included in that post is a gallery of images and in that gallery? A great picture of the 4-door Maverick called the ‘Taxi’.
See the article here.
See a link to the image here. Note that some of the caption information included with the image is incorrect.
I’ve included the image below but you should go read the whole article. I happen to agree that IF Ford were to spend even a portion of the former budget dollars on NHRA Stock/Super Stock they could be very successful building up their brand in the Sportsmen ranks.
Gapp and Roush – 1977 Ford Pinto – Dan Bell image
Nice clean looking car.
ex-Barrie Poole Pinto in action
Sooner or later I’m going to get my act together and get all this stuff posted.
In the meantime enjoy some video of the ex-Barrie Poole Pinto vs. Sox Martin.
See it here on youtube.
